While on a recent holiday to Greece I managed a visit to the New Acropolis museum in Athens. The museum which cost £200 million and was designed by Bernard Tschumi sits near the base of the Acropolis with an amazing view of the Parthenon. The museum itself is in fact amazing! You enter by walking across a glass floor in which you can see the ancient ruins below you. Each floor of the museum depicts thousands of ancient marble sculptures and artifacts excavated from the Acropolis site. The top floor which in my opinion was defintely the best as it has a glass wall offering a 360 degree panoramic view of Athens as well as replicating the entire top friezes of the parthenon offering a glimpse of how it looked while being able to see the real thing in the distance.
