Kirklees Metropolitan district is an area of West Yorkshire, encompassing towns of Huddersfield, Desbury, Batley and Mirfiled and some smaller villages. Over the next two weekends an Open Studio even is being held, where artists, sculptors, potters etc., will be opening their studio's up to display their work and working space.
From the website:
Studios are often personal and private spaces, each one unique and individual, directly reflecting the character and persona of the artist.
They are places of contemplation, design, inspiration, isolation, collaboration, creation, construction, spontaneity, frustration, de-construction, relief, exhilaration and relaxation.
Some will be chaotic, others havens of calm. Some spaces are heaving with a mixture of creative folk all working side by side, while other sites offer undiscovered pockets of individual innovation and expression.
During HOST artists from around the region offer you a snippet of their world. The trail invites you to experience the variety of work in a range of different atmospheres. Enjoy.
